The King vs. The Dragon—Part II

MC had just finished getting ready for her big day off. She was going to spend the morning with Eisuke, and her afternoon with Soryu. The last time the three of them were altogether, things had seemed a bit tense between the two bidders. Hopefully they worked out whatever issues they may have had going on with each other. Checking herself over one last time in the mirror, she ran out the door to meet Eisuke. When she made it outside, she saw Eisuke leaning against a large black limo. He was wearing his casual clothes which, she had never seen him in. Eisuke could pull of any look, but really could rock jeans. “Well aren’t you a dirty girl? Do I really look that good?” Eisuke asked with a smirk. Snapping out of her daze, MC blushed and tried to regain her composure. “I’m sorry! I was spacing out.” He opened the door, “Get in.”
MC quickly got in the car and he climbed in after her. The car started driving off and the pair sat in silence. She still didn’t know where they were going, or why he even asked her to keep her morning open. “Eisuke,” she started, “Not that I’m complaining, but is there any reason why you wanted to meet up today?” For once in his life, Eisuke didn’t know how to respond to the question asked to him. “It’s nothing for you to worry about. No more questions until we get there.” They sat in silence until the car finally stopped moving. Eisuke was the first to exit and he turned around and reached for her hand. Grabbing it in hers, she followed him into the large shopping mall complex they had arrived at.
“Pick anything you want, and I’ll buy it for you.” Eisuke told her assuming this would be a good date. The women in his past often enjoyed shopping and would love it when he would buy them presents. MC didn’t want to go shopping for herself though. She wanted to do something that the both could enjoy. They walked past a mall map and she quickly glanced at it and found the perfect place they could go. “Eisuke do you mind if we stop somewhere? I wanted to try something from the sweet café.” He always took his coffee with extra cream and sugar, so she knew he had a sweet tooth. “Do what you want.” Eisuke responded abruptly, but MC could swear she saw a look of surprise on his face.
They placed their orders and they found some seats in the café. “I’m not surprised you found the food place so quickly,” Eisuke smirked, “You seem to have a talent for that.” She smiled at him, “I chose this place because I thought you would like it Eisuke.” His eyes widened at her confession. He always knew she was different from other women, but he didn’t realize how considerate and genuine she was. Eisuke never had someone truly care about his well-being before. MC shared stuff about herself from her childhood, and soon Eisuke found himself opening up about his experience at boarding school, and how he first met Soryu.
Their morning flew by as they enjoyed their conversation and didn’t even realize it was almost time for MC to meet up with Soryu. On the car ride back, MC was still thinking about how this was the first time she had ever seen Eisuke seem this relaxed and open. They arrived back at her apartment and to her surprise, Eisuke walked her back to her door. “Thank you for today Eisuke. I had a really great time getting to know more about you.” He crossed his arms in front of his chest. “I didn’t do it for you,” he quickly looked away hiding his faint blush, “I just want to make sure my employees are resting properly so they don’t embarrass me or the hotel when they are on the clock.” She gave him one last look before heading into her apartment. “Thank you anyway Eisuke,” and with that she closed the door.
Eisuke didn’t expect to enjoy himself as much as he did today. Today was the first time in a long time where he felt he could truly let his guard down and be himself. This woman was having quite the effect on him. It made his blood boil thinking of how she was going to be meeting Soryu in just a few hours. He felt his fist clenching up at the just of Soryu making her laugh or seeing that beautiful smile of hers. Grabbing his phone, he pulled up Soryu’s contact info, and hit dial. “We need to talk.” Eisuke barked into the phone.
